Thieves smashed their way into a landscaping company’s van and stole power tools worth an estimated £3,500.
Police are now appealing for information after the Actual Landscapes truck was broken into on Watts Dyke, in Llay , Wrexham , sometime between 8pm and 6pm overnight Monday.
It was targeted as part of a mini crime spree in the village which also saw attempted break-ins at a shed and a cemetery in Llay.
Director of Actual Landscapes, which has an office in Vicars Cross, Chester, as well asHawarden , Rory Tompsett blasted the thieves.
“There was a quality sticker over the window and what they appear to have done is tried to prise the corners off and realised there was a window and pulled it out before getting the tools,” Mr Tompsett said.
Both sides of the van were damaged in the theft

“It was parked outside the house of one our workers.
“The tools are worth about £3,500, but when you factor in lost earnings, the van needing repairs and letting clients down, it must have cost about £5,000.
“It is appalling and whoever has done this just does not care about the impact it has not only on the company and workers, but also on families and clients. The vehicle has to be taken off the road and it causes massive disruption.”
Tools stolen included Bosch drills, an impact driver, a circular saw, grinder and a brand new Sthil 410 masonary saw.
All tools have Actual Landscapes written on them.
The van wasn’t the only target last night.
North Wales Police said the window of a shed was also jammed off on Drill Hall Court and locks broken at a nearby cemetery on Llay New Road, although nothing was taken during those two incidents.

Forensic officers have been sent to the scene and house to house inquiries conducted, with inquiries still ongoing.
A NWP spokeswoman said: “We would urge witnesses or anybody with information to get in touch with us on 101 quoting references U029915 for the van, U029955 for the cemetery and U029930 for the shed.”
