A MAN arrested after assaulting his partner told police: 'When I get out I am going to stab her'.
Aaron Edwards, of Llangyfelach Road in Brynhyfryd, pleaded guilty to assaulting his partner Michelle Chapman at Swansea Magistrates' Court, following his arrest on March 8.
Prosecuting, Julie Sullivan said Ms Chapman had gone to a neighbour's house following the assault with blood on her face. After police attended, she told officers the pair had become involved in an argument over money which had been spent on drugs, before Edwards, aged 38, 'hit her over and over on her head'.

She added: "She did not wish to proceed [with the prosecution] but just wanted him to have help to kick his drug habit". She also 'disclosed he had been violent in the past'.
After being taken into custody by police, Edwards told officers: 'I hit my Mrs, I am in the wrong', but also added 'When I get out I am going to stab her. I am going to kill her'.
Mitigating, Craig Davies said: "In police interview he restrained himself and was not so open, but in preparation of the report before court he was far more honest and admitted the offence".
Chairman of magistrates Andrew Powell fined Edwards £40 after he pleaded guilty to assault, and sentenced him to a 12 month community order, with a rehabilitation requirement. He was also ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge totalling £145. Ms Chapman was in court to see Edwards give evidence via video link.
Following the sentence, she told the court: 'Tell him I love him'.
