A MANHUNT has been launched for a man believed to have been responsible for starting three fires in Rhyl.
The first fire was reported at 11.45pm on Tuesday, March 22 when the door of Lloyds Pharmacy on Wellington Road was set alight.Officers from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended and managed to extinguish the flames.
Further reports were then received about two separate bin fires on the same road, which were also extinguished.
Inquiries are ongoing and North Wales Police are keen to speak to anyone who may haveinformation relating to the fires.
Insp Alwyn Williams said: “We are keen to trace a man who was seen in the vicinity of the pharmacy at the time. He is described as being white, in his 30s with dark wavy hair.
"He may have been wearing a Christmas jumper, with grey/black trousers and dark training shoes.”
Kevin Jones, Business Education and Arson Reduction Team Manager at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, added: “Deliberate fires place tremendous pressure on resources, with our crews tied up trying to bring them under control, which in turn delays firefighters from attending life threatening incidents. It could be you or a member of your family that requires our assistance and we may not be able to get to you as quickly or as easily as we would like because we have to deal with a deliberate fire.
“Setting fires is a criminal offence and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is actively working alongside North Wales Police to combat deliberate incidents.”
Anyone with information relating to the Rhyl fires is asked to contact officers at Rhyl Police Station quoting reference U041347. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or contact the control room direct via the new web live chat facility.
