wales,UK - Someone has put together an online list of 'secret' dogging sites in Wales - and people are leaving their reviews

Wales' secret dogging sites revealed
Dozens of locations – including car parks, lay-bys, sand dunes and picnic areas – have been listed in an online round-up of dogging sites in Wales.

An online directory lists hundreds of spots popular as well as rules about taking home your litter and banning 'boy racers'

The list, published on a website targeted at fans of swinging, lists more than 100 spots where strangers are said to congregate to have sex – and watch others as they indulge.
Police say they are aware of such sites and have reminded people that offenders will not be tolerated.
“Indecency is a criminal offence and anyone caught will be dealt with robustly," said a spokesman for South Wales Police.

Users offer plenty of helpful advice

As well as listing the locations, the site carries TripAdvisor-style reviews and rules on best practice at the locations.
For instance, at a popular park in Cardiff, a user has written about the “very secluded and very quiet” site: “Respect the neighbours and take litter home, don’t spoil it, and please... NO boy racers”.
A site near an old people’s home in Aberavon is noted as a “good spot for doggers” while a footpath near Aberdare also makes the list.

There's advice about how busy it gets

A road in Bridgend is described as “a bit bumpy...but very secluded and quiet” with about eight people there “on most weeknights”.
A lay-by near Caerphilly is said to have “excellent facilities” but is new “so may be quiet for a while”.
A coastal site in the Vale of Glamorgan is said to be “very quiet” with “occasional dogging”. The writer adds: “More couples please!”

There's advice about what time to turn up, too

Doggers also meet opposite a busy South Wales hospital, according to a listing on the site.
“Regular doggers between 3pm and after 5pm on the weekends. Flash your lights there and if there [are] people there that want to dog you they will either leave their doors open to invite you or will flash you to follow them.”
A “very friendly” new location is listed at a car park in the Cynon Valley.
“Turn in there, sit and wait until someone flashes their lights or hazards. You can talk to them if you prefer,” the user writes.
“Good times are afternoons and evenings in daylight – just walk into woods for fun.”

And there's advice about 'dark corners'

The car park near a junction on the M4 in South Wales is also listed. The site listing says: “Numerous cars seen arriving and driving to dark corners of car park."
A hospital in north-east Wales was listed on the site.
“Mostly females looking for male dogging partners,” a user posted.
Locations throughout the country – including CarmarthenshireFlintshire,MonmouthshirePembrokeshireGwyneddConwy, and Powys – are listed on the site.

What are the guidelines on etiquette?

Another website offers tips for those looking to take part in dogging on the sort of locations to visit and the expected etiquette.
“Most of the best spots for dogging are family areas during the day,” it said.
“To avoid conflicts you might want to find out the right time to go out dogging.
“To make sure that you are dogging at the right time, check out the schedules of your desired location first before you start doing something naughty with your partner."

This MP is not impressed

Monmouth MP David Davies, a former special constable with British Transport Police, said: “What people do in their private lives is up to them but they should be sure they are not breaking the law.
“I completely understand why local people would take a dim view of such behaviour going on on their doorstep.
“It is incumbent on everyone to respect the rights of others.
“In any case, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to spend a wet wintry evening on a seafront having sex with a stranger.
“I would have thought a night in with some popcorn would be infinitely preferable.”

Here's what the police say

A spokesman for South Wales Police insisted the force would not tolerate offenders.
“Indecency is a criminal offence and anyone caught will be dealt with robustly.
“Websites are monitored and used to gather information which can inform future patrols and enforcement.”
A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police added: “Police are aware that there are websites advertising this type of behaviour.
“If a member of the public is concerned about any such activity in their area they are advised to contact their local police by phoning 101.
“Police will investigate reports of this type of behaviour and if any criminal incidents arise then the appropriate action will be taken.”
