A brave off-duty police officer confronted a man armed with a 15cm knife.
The officer, who has not been named, challenged the man and was injured when he was punched during the incident.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
The incident took place in Prestatyn on Thursday evening.
Sergeant Mark Jones tweeted: “Brave off-duty @NWPolice officer challenged a male in possession of this knife on Thursday eve in Prestatyn.
“Officer sustained minor injuries after being punched during incident. 33yr old male has been charged.”
