A pensioner has appeared in court accused of arson, assault and making threats to kill after a fire at a remote rural farmhouse.
Nicholas Weaver also faced charges of criminal damage by fire after a fire at the Denbighshire property on Friday night.
He was also accused of causing criminal damage to an ornamental pig and telephone box and threatening to damage a vehicle.
The 68-year-old of Lime Grove, Elton, Chester used a crutch to walk into the dock, and spoke only to confirm his name and address at the 10-minute hearing at Prestatyn Magistrates Court.
The six charges come after firefighters fought for more than two hours to put out the blaze at a property at Blaen y Cwm, Llandrillo near Corwen which left two downstairs rooms completely gutted.
