A PONTARDDULAIS woman who called police for help because she was in pain then unleashed a torrent of abuse at officers when they went to her aid has been fined.
Swansea Magistrates Court heard that Lindsey Catherine Sarah Griffiths called police on Valentine's Day complaining of pains in her ribs.
The officers decided to take her to hospital, but during the journey she began shouting abuse at police.
The foul language continued when Griffiths got to Morriston Hospital's A&E unit, this time in front of nurses and patients.
The 30-year-old was warned about her behaviour but continued — and was arrested.
Griffiths, of Birch Rock Road, Pontarddulais, pleaded guilty to a public order offence when she appeared before justices yesterday.
Rhys Davies, for Griffiths, said his client "has a limited recollection of the events due to her intoxication".
Griffiths was fined £50 but magistrates took a day spent in custody in lieu.
The court heard Griffiths is currently in prison having broken the terms of a restraining order.
