A MAN fled with a quantity of cash following a robbery at a Wrexham bookmakers.
North Wales Police said that at about 8.20pm yesterday, a man went into Corbetts bookmakers on Park Avenue in Acton, demanding money from the lone female cashier.
The woman handed over the money, at which point the police said the man fled the shop with the cash.
The offender was wearing a black coat with a hood and his face was partially covered by a scarf.
The shops around the bookmakers were cordoned off by police at about 8.30pm while enquiries took place.
Det Insp Lee Boycott of Wrexham CID urged anybody with information about the incident, or anybody who was in the area at the time, to call North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers Wales on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number U034768.
