South Wales - Police appeal after African grey parrot stolen in a £35,000 raid on a pet shop

An African grey parrot was among the stock taken in the raid on Silver Star Pets
POLICE are appealing for information after an overnight raid on a pet shop which saw burglars getting away with £35,000-worth of stock - including an African grey parrot.
The £900 bird was among the haul of stock taken from Silver Star Pets in Pengam which included dog leads and coats, grooming equipment, fish tanks and a quantity of pet food.

The pet shop was one of four business targeted at the Britannia Enterprise Centre on the night of March 15, with the neighbouring Auto Stitch, George Monumental Masons, and Pride and Groom also attacked - the thieves caused damage to doors at those properties but nothing was taken. However a "taxi" sign was stolen from a vehicle parked outside the shops.
Officers are urging anyone with information on the incident - or anyone who is offered similar items for sale - to come forward.
