A DAD-OF-FIVE was found in a pool of blood after being stabbed in a daylight attack in a city street.
Grandad Clint Simms, 40, was discovered with horrific wounds in a residential street in a Cardiff suburb.
Paramedics rushed to his aid but were unable to resuscitate him and he died at the scene.
Police officers sealed off two parts of the Ely area of the city and were carrying out door-to-door inquiries today.
Meanwhile, two men, aged 37 and 58, are being held on suspicion of murder.
Tributes were paid to dad-of-five Clint, who lived in the Ely area.
He was described by friends and family as an "amazing guy".
His former partner Nicola Saunders, who has a son with him, said: "I have always got on with Clint and loved him now like my brother.
"I am hurt but I have just got to think of my son."
Melanie Telamaque wrote on Facebook: "Devastating news. I have known and got on really well with him for as long as I can remember and was only having a good chat about two weeks ago."
Jenny Louise added: "Oh babe so sad. Amazing guy."
Police said the two men being quizzed were being held at Cardiff Bay police station.
A police spokesman said: "The man was treated in Glyndwr Road by paramedics and doctors from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Welsh Air Ambulance following a report of a stabbing at 11.31am.
"Despite the efforts of medical personnel he died at the scene."
