A PENSIONER disabled by polio since childhood has been jailed for seven and a half years at Caernarfon crown court for sex offences against a young girl.
Kenneth Jones, aged 71, of Craig Menai, Bangor, had been found guilty by a jury of 21 charges of indecent assault and indecency with a child – in each case by an eleven to one majority verdict.
His barrister Jonathan Austin said Jones had worked all his life, including in India, and his last offence had been many years ago.
Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins said there had been an element of grooming of the victim.
He imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and Jones will be banned from sleeping in the same house as a child under 16.
