POLICE have seized scores of cannabis plants along with growing equipment following raids at houses in Birchgrove and Aberavon.
Some 23 plants were found when officers searched a house on Birchgrove Road on Sunday morning, while 52 plants were found spread over a number of rooms at a house in Thomas Street in Aberavon.
Officers also recovered growing equipment, plant food and ventilation systems.
Police say a 38-year-old has been arrested and charged with offences of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity in connection with the Birchgrove raid, and investigations are continuing into the Aberavon house.
South Wales Police sergeant Jon Fairhurst thanked the public for their help in providing information about suspected drug activity — and urged them to continue reaching for their phones.
He said: "Members of the public should report any information in relation to drugs to their local neighbourhood policing team, all information will be treated confidentially.
"No matter how insignificant or significant you may feel the information is, we want to know and we will act on that information."
Giant Footprint Leaves Lasting Impression!
A worryingly big footprint in the shape of a bird claw has been caught on camera by local photographer, Mike Milestone. And 63 other people. What could possibly have made it?

Sergeant Fairhurst said the Thomas Street property was raided on Sunday following complaints from people living in the area about the strong smell of cannabis coming from the house.
He said an investigation into the factory and it's illegal crop was continuing, and he appealed for anyone who had seen suspicious activity at or near the property in recent weeks to come forward.
The sergeant said: "We received information about this property from the community, and a warrant was executed by officers under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
"Inside the property officers discovered a cannabis factory containing a lighting, feeding and venting system in a number of different rooms."
The sergeant added that there were a number of signs for people to look for that indicated buildings were being used to produced cannabis including blacked-out windows, properties that seem unusually warm and have a strong smell, and houses where the occupants are rarely seen or where people come and go to the address at strange hours.
