The armed siege at a warehouse in Sandycroft is over, police have confirmed.
It has emerged that it followed arrests yesterday of four men yesterday in relation to a cannabis farm that was found at the site, in the Chemistry Lane / Factory Road area of the village.
When police called at another address this morning to arrest another man wanted in connection with the drugs find, he refused to come out and made threats toward the police.
Armed police were called to the scene, and a police helicopter circled over head as the man showed no sign of coming out.
The siege ended after seven hours, when the man, described as in his 40s and local, gave himself up.
He has been taken to a local police station for questioning.
