North Wales Police are looking for the body of a man and are working on leads someone may have been a killed within the last five years.
A canal tunnel has been searched as part of a probe into a historic murder in Wrexham.
Police are still scouring the Llangollen canal as part of the inquiry.
Experts are investigating a stretch known of the waterway known as Chirk Bank as part of the probe.
Barge and narrow boat owners had been warned their could be delays this month as police divers continue to probe the depths in a bid to find a man’s body.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We can confirm police are at that location as part of the investigation into a historic murder.”
Underwater divers were called in last month to scour sections of the canal which run through Gobowen having previously searched remote woodland on the outskirts of Wrexham.
Earlier in May detectives and forensic experts examined land in forestry at Nant-y-Ffrith, near Bwlchgwyn.
It came after officers and teams from the Ministry of Defence began searching a smallholding on Henlle Lane, Gobowen.
Detectives don’t know who the victim is but are working on leads someone may have been a killed within the last five years.
In a statement, North Wales Police said: “Police divers are searching parts of the Llangollen Canal as part of the ongoing operation.”
