The victim of an attack at a bookshop in Colwyn Bay has been named locally as 'Mick', the man who works in the shop.
Locals say man attacked is in his 50s, and works in the bookshop in Hawarden Road, which is currently sealed off by police
The victim has been taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd . One local said: "Mick is a lovely fella. He wouldn't do anything to harm anyone.
"He's had the book shop for years and a lot of people in the town know him.
"I hope he's going to be OK."

Another added: "It's terrible to think something like this can happen on your doorstep.
"I was shocked to hear Mick had been attacked. He's a really nice man. I've known him a long time."
Officers have been carrying out house to house enquiries while forensic teams examined the door frame of the book shop.
Police at the scene said their presence will remain in the area for a few more hours for the purpose of crime scene preservation.
No arrests have yet been made.
