Four kittens have died after being found tied in a plastic bag and dumped near a river inWrexham .
They were found on a stretch of the River Gwenfro in the Caia Park area of the city on Saturday.
All of the kittens are all believed to have been alive when they were placed in the bag.
Two of the kittens, thought to be around just two weeks-old, were dead when they were found.
The other two kittens taken to a nearby vet but sadly died later.
They were discovered near the bank just downstream from the bridge over the River Gwenfro at Y-Wern, Caia Park,
RSPCA Cymru is now appealing for information about the incident.
Tim Jones, the RSPCA inspector investigating the case, said: “These poor kittens were found in a plain blue plastic bag.
“It is heartbreaking to think how frightened they must have been and it is very sad that all four have died.
“We are urging anyone with any information about this incident to contact us on the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.”
The news comes just two days after two eight week old kittens were found alive tied in a Tesco carrier bag in a bin in Porthmadog in Gwynedd.
