Snowdon,North Wales - Far-right group Britain First hold 'activist training camp' in Snowdonia

Far-right Britain First extremists took part in fight training in the foothills of Snowdonia.
Shocking pictures posted by the controversial group show camouflaged supporters practising knife techniques and self-defence at an “activist training camp” in Llanberis.
The members were also pictured swearing an oath over the Union Jack within yards of Dolbadarn Castle.
Furious Llanberis councillor Trevor Edwards today told Britain First to stay away from the region.
He said: “We do not want them here. I don’t want them here.
“I don’t think anyone from around here would want to be associated with them.
“I will look into who owns the land to allow this.
“I am certainly not comfortable with having these sorts of people in Llanberis.”
It was initially reported that the killer of MP Jo Cox shouted either “Britain First” or “put Britain First” before shooting and stabbing her in the street.
The group immediately distanced themselves from the attack, saying they had nothing to do with it and would “not condone actions like that”.
According to the group’s website, the Snowdonia camp was their first “activist training camp” with the promise of “many more of these training events in the future”.
Describing their “knife defence” class, they wrote: “Knife defence and self defence is crucial to keeping our activists safe.
“Knives are prevalent in our society. We never want trouble but we refuse to leave our activists exposed.”

Britain First was formed in 2011 by former members of the British National Party (BNP).
The organisation has around 6,000 members but it has managed to build an army of online fans.
Matthew Collins, of Hope Not Hate, branded Britain First a “hate group”.
“Any organisation that uses such hate-inciting language as Britain First should be having a look at themselves after the shocking act earlier this week," he said.
“This is not the WI we are talking about, baking cakes or contributing to society. You can see they are preparing themselves for confrontation.
“They are a hate group and they campaign about immigration, Muslims and abortion.”

The group were slammed by the mother of murdered Fusilier Lee Rigby after they used his image as part of their campaign literature.
Soon after, they sparked outcry after posting videos online of members disrupting mosques in London and Bradford.
Britain First have been approached for comment.
