Police have issued a warning to the public after fishing wire was found placed at head height at popular tourist attraction.
The incident happened near Tredegar House in Newport , and caused a man to fall off his bike. He sustained a number of injuries including a fractured wrist, Gwent Police said.
According to the force there is no CCTV in the area, close to the 17th-century National Trust site, and members of the public have been asked to come forward with any information.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “If you do know anything about this incident or know of who might be responsible please call 101 quoting log number 644 09/06/2016.”
