VEHICLE owners have been warned to keep valuables hidden after a spate of thefts from cars in Caernarfon.
North Wales Police have seen a spike in reports of vehicles being targeted by thieves in the town over the last month.
The most recent incident occurred in the Twthill area on Monday, June 13 after a car window was smashed and a handbag, which had been left in the footwell of the passenger seat, was stolen.
Sergeant Rhys Gough of the Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Many of the vehicles have had their windows smashed in order to get to the items within.
“The majority of vehicle crime is completely avoidable.
“Leaving items such as bags and mobile phones on display in your vehicle is an open invitation for a thief.
“It only takes a few seconds to remove them, please don’t make it easy for thieves.”
Anyone with information can contact North Wales Police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers Wales anonymously on 0800 555 111.
