Swansea,South Wales - Arrest made in Swansea Valley arson investigation

Police investigating a spate of suspicious fires in Ystalyfera have arrested a 45-year-old man
POLICE investigating a spate of fires in a Swansea Valley village have made an arrest.
There have been 18 suspicious car, shed caravan fires in and around Ystalyfera over the past 12 months.
Concerned residents called a public meeting last month when they expressed their concern about a lack of police action in finding those responsible.
Now police have confirmed that a 35-year-old man from the Ystalyfera area has been arrested in connection with the incident.
South Wales Police inspector Andy Davies said: "We understand that the number of fires which have been reported in the Ystalyfera community over many months has caused considerable concern among local residents.
"As a result of our investigation a 35-year-old man from the local area has been arrested and is currently on police bail while enquiries continue."
Last month's public meeting heard complaints that police had "let the community down" with one person adding: "If this had happened in Neath or Swansea they would throw everything at it."
