Part of the A534 new link road has been shut by North Wales Police who are appealing for information about the incident
A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run in Wrexham last night.
The walker, a local man in his 50s, was believed to be walking between Holt Road roundabout and the nearby industrial estate just before midnight when he was struck by a vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver did not stop and North Wales Police have appealed for witnesses.
The emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on the carriageway of the A534 Llan-y-Pwll link road, which is known locally as the new link road.
His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
Chief Inspector Darren Wareing said: “I am appealing for the driver of the vehicle involved to come forward.

“I am also appealing for any witnesses who would have been in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the collision to call police on 101 quoting incident number U084673.”
The road is still closed this morning as crime scene investigators inspect the scene.
