TRAVELLERS have set up camp on a housing development in Rhyl.
Residents of Wales and West Housing’s Parc Brickfields, just off Cefndy Road, expressed their upset after caravans parked up on Monday at about 2.30pm.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “We just want to know what is going on.
”They are causing a disturbance – we feel trapped in our homes. They are noisy, they are vandalising the area, they are urinating, we can hear bickering. We have even called the police. We feel trapped in our homes.
”There is a lot of people living here with disabilities, anxiety, illnesses or mental problems. The police have been going house to house to speak to residents.
”Usually we would all go and sit outside when we have nice weather like this, but we can’t. The Council don’t want to know. We don’t know what the rules are on eviction because they have to abide by the law.”
Parc Brickfields is backed by £2.1m from the Welsh Government’s Innovative Housing Finance Grant scheme.
