Llandudno,North Wales - Rogue Llandudno slum landlord let people live in these flats even AFTER they'd been shut down

Shocking pictures show the state of flats belonging to a slum landlord fined for letting people live in squalid and dangerous conditions.

Mark Thorogood fined after it was found he was renting out properties which had already been made subject of prohibition orders because of the state they were in

Mark Thorogood, 50, was fined for renting out rooms that had already been made subject to prohibition orders.
Mark Thorogood, 50, was fined a total of £5,517 at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court last week after being found guilty in his absence of orders on flats at 1 Maelgwyn Road, Llandudno.
The images taken at the time of prohibition orders were made in 2014, show filthy washing areas and bedding and drug paraphernalia left on worktops.
Four of the dwelling’s flats are currently under prohibition orders for reasons such as defective lighting and fire alarm, potentially dangerous electrics, inadequate heating and other matters.
Lead member for regulation on Conwy County Council Cllr Philip Evans said the council's actions "sent a message" to bad landlords.
He said: “It’s a Council priority that people in Conwy should be able to live in safe and appropriate housing.
“This robust action sends a message to landlords that unsatisfactory conditions will not be tolerated.”
Two flats within the property, which is also listed as the head office of Mr Thorogood’s new company MyLifeHub, were found to be occupied for around a month between February and March this year.
Emergency prohibition orders were served on the property in October and November 2014.
He was back in the news in April when we revealed he had set up a new business, MyLifeHub, despite having run up debts of almost £1.5m, some of it with private investors.
Mr Thorogood’s new business, offers financial, property, legal and support services to customers, and besides Mr Thorogood has five other experts working for it.
There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing from the company - of which Mr Thorogood was the founder - or its advisors.
He is paying back fines levied by the courts who found in favour of Conwy council, when he was previously found guilty of running unlicensed rental properties, at a rate of just £40 a month.
It will take him more than 25 years to settle that debt.
Slum properties belonging to Mr Thorogood - who has previously referred to himself as ‘The Pied Piper of Llandudno’ because people were literally following him down the street trying to rent a home from him - were eventually closed by the fire service last year, in conjunction with Conwy council and North Wales Police, over breaches of safety regulations.
The Daily Post attempted to contact Mr Thorogood at his head office address.
