A dog chased a sheep off a cliff on the Great Orme, leaving it with injuries so bad that it had to be destroyed.
The shocking incident took place at around 3pm yesterday and police want to speak to anyone who may have seen a terrier type dog and a woman wearing a white hat.
PC Dave Allen from North Wales Police’s rural crime team said a witness has come forward to say that they saw a dog chase sheep on top of the Orme.
PC Allen added: “A sheep was so terrified it jumped off the cliff and landed on Marine Drive below.

“She had broken her legs and also sustained facial injuries and so had to be destroyed.”
According to the witness the dog was off the lead and ignored its owner’s call to return PC Allen said.
“She had been frantically calling for her dog, but the dog wouldn’t come back to her.
“The Great Orme was very busy yesterday so there should be other witnesses, and we please ask them to come forward.
“Again we strongly recommend for dog owners to keep their dogs on the lead at all times.”
If you can help please phone North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number 16082021.
