Operation Gower Safe aims to tackle would-be thieves and troublemakers in Gower's tourism hotspots such as Langland
POLICE have launched an operation to keep residents and visitors in one of Wales' tourism hot spots safe this summer.
Gower Safe is a partnership involving South Wales Police, Mid and West Wales Fire Service, the National Trust, Swansea Council and environmental watchdog Natural Resources Wales, and aims to keep would-be thieves and troublemakers at bay.

As part of the operation joint patrols are being conducted at campsites and car parks across the area as part of an effort to prevent thefts and anti-social behaviour.
The patrols will continue throughout the summer when tens of thousands of visitors will head forGower's popular coastline and beauty spots.
South Wales Police sergeant Chris Dix of the Gower neighbourhood policing team said disorderly or anti-social behaviour would not be tolerated.
He said: "The Gower is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and we want everyone who visits the area to enjoy it and not become a victim of crime.
"Unfortunately some of the crime we deal with could be easily prevented if property was not left on display in vehicles and within easy reach of a thief on the beach.
"Very often people leave their belongings on the beach or in car parks while they go swimming or surfing in the sea, which can provide rich pickings for criminals and cause victims a lot of unnecessary stress.
"Disorderly or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. I would also appeal to visitors to respect the environment and not leave litter strewn on the beaches."
He added: "We want people who visit the Gower to go away with happy memories and to enjoy themselves without being in fear of crime or anti-social behaviour."
