A TEENAGER who broke off his electronic tag after just two weeks has been warned that he could be facing jail if he does it again.
In April the 16-year-old from Rhyl was made subject of a 30-month youth rehabilitation order with intensive supervision after he admitted several offences including assault.
He was also given a 10pm – 7am curfew for three months, but Prestatyn youth court heard yesterday ((Tues)) that after just two weeks he broke off the tag. It was the second time he had breached a court order.
Solicitor Andy Hutchinson, defending, said the teenager had had an emotionally difficult time because his girlfriend had been switching between the defendant and the father of her child.
Chairman Alun Williams told him: “It’s bad enough that you took the tag off but you have also shut yourself off from the youth justice team.”
The curfew was extended for another two months but Mr Williams commented: “We are very concerned and not terribly confident that you are going to do this.”
