A BURGLAR has been sent to prison for five years after police traced him from fingerprints he left at the scene – on an ironing board.

He made off from the Caradog Street house but left some of the property strewn across the garden and the back lane of the house.
Murray's fingerprints were subsequently found on an ironing board cover.
The 34-year-old, of Geifr Road, Margam, had previously been found guilty of burglary when he appeared in the dock for sentencing.

The court was told he has a number of previous convictions for burglaries, and he was jailed for five years.
South Wales Police detective inspector Dave Peart of Neath Port Talbot CID welcomed the sentence - and praised the investigation that led to Murray's arrest and prosecution.
He said: "The good work of officers who attended the scene and the follow-up investigation by CID officers and crime scene investigators meant we were able to put overwhelming evidence before the court which led to his conviction," he said.
"A lot of work has gone into investigating and preventing burglaries in the Port Talbot area and Murray is a serial burglar who is now behind bars serving a substantial prison sentence."
