THREE men have been arrested by police investigating a spate of burglaries in Caernarfon.
Two men in their 40s were arrested in connection with the recent burglaries as part of a police operation in the town on Wednesday.
A third man in his 30s was arrested over misuse of drugs act offences.
A number of items were also seized and detectives will now check against stolen property.
DI Gerwyn Thomas at Caernarfon CID, who is coordinating the operation, said. “This morning’s action comes as the result of a recent spike in domestic burglaries locally.
“All three men are currently at a local police station and will be questioned later.
“Fortunately this type of crime isn’t common, and whilst the investigation into residential burglaries is a priority, it must be stressed that we need assistance from our local communities to reduce incidents of this nature and identify those responsible.
“I’d advise house holders to be vigilant at all times, always ensure your property is locked and secured, particularly during this recent spate of warm weather where it may be tempting to leave windows and doors open, and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact police immediately.”
Anyone who has any information relating to the burglaries should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
