Wrexham,North Wales - Motorhome snatched off driveway of couple from Marchwiel

JUST days after a family had their dream holiday ruined when their motorhome was stolen, another couple have reported a similar theft.

Last week the Leader reported how Jemma Matthews and her family had planned to visit Disneyland Paris to celebrate her parents’ 25th wedding anniversary.

But their £27,000 motorhome was stolen from their drive-way in Gwersyllt.

Now another Wrexham family have reported the theft of their motorhome, just four days later.

Heather Coulson, 74, and husband Douglas, 78, of Elwyn Drive, Marchwiel, cut short their holiday to France due to bad weather.

They were only back in the country for 10 days when their Shausson motorhome, worth £29,000, was stolen from their driveway on June 27.

Mrs Coulson said: “Whoever did this are absolute scum, there are lots of personal things in there.

“The irony is we had just come back from holiday early.

“We keep the motorhome at the side of the house and it is difficult to get it off the drive, so they knew what they were doing as they took it overnight and no-one heard anything.”

The Coulsons have had the motorhome since they bought it brand new six years ago.

Mrs Coulson added: “We’ve been told by neighbours that they have noticed three men driving slowly up and down the cul-de-sac in a grey car, in the days beforehand.

“We think it could be the same people who took that other family’s motorhome, that they have come to the area knowing specifically what they are stealing.”

Mr Coulson said he noticed that the motorhome had gone when he went out to get his morning newspaper.

He said: “I’m absolutely flabbergasted and shocked because we hadn’t heard a thing.

“It’s nearly 28ft long and 7ft 5ins wide so it’s not the easiest thing to get off the drive, and it was locked and alarmed.”
