But the site’s owners have denied the claims and say they shut off the music early at the "corporate event"

A council is investigating reports of a “rave” on Anglesey that is alleged to have lasted into the early hours of the morning.
According to fed-up residents, an event near Llanfaethlu on Friday, August 12, resulted in “over 12 hours of loud music” which neighbours say made their lives “a misery”.
But the site’s owners have denied the claims and are adamant that outdoor music at the corporate event had been shut off by 11pm.
The venue, at the Carreglwyd Country Estate, also hosts the annual four-day Gottwood festival , which numbered champion boxer Tyson Fury among its guests this year.
But one neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “We’re not killjoys by any means, but to suffer Gottwood in June and then this a few months later, is taking the mickey.
“All we could hear was the thud of music and people talking for hours on end, which went on past 4am.
“It’s just not on, especially in an area like this.”
Local councillor Ken Hughes confirmed that he’d received complaints from the nearby Rhydwyn and Llanfaethlu areas,
“This is a very quiet and rural area, so to have events like these can sometimes be a shock to the system,” he said.
“I was told that some kind of private event was being held there, but it doesn’t seem consistent with the noise levels being reported so late into the night.

'Noise monitoring equipment'

“I imagine there’s also a negative impact on tourism, as people tend to be attracted to the area’s tranquil nature.”
Gottwood, an electronic music and arts festival, has had its fair share of controversy since being founded in 2009.
In the past it has sparked strong objections from nearby residents who have been unhappy with the level of noise and disruption it allegedly brought.
Some even staged a protest when it was put before the council’s planning committee in 2010.
But Tom Carpenter of the Carreglwyd Estate said they are keen to work with local residents and that the music at last Friday’s event was shut off at 11pm.
“We had a license until 2am, but decided that 11pm would be a reasonable time to shut off the music in order to be fair with our neighbours.
“Anything after 11pm was held indoors and sound monitoring equipment was used to ensure any noise was kept to a reasonable level.”
A spokesperson for Anglesey Council confirmed that complaints were also filed over the noise levels from this year’s Gottwood festival.
The spokeswoman said the authority have made organisers aware of these complaints and have stressed the need to keep noise levels within acceptable levels.
She added: “The event last Friday was licensed under a Temporary Event Notice and described as a ‘corporate team building event with a disco’.
“We can confirm the council did receive noise complaints and a member of the Environmental Health team was able to set up noise monitoring equipment on Friday afternoon to monitor levels for the duration of the event.
“We are currently looking into the data, and once we have the information we will be looking to see what appropriate steps to take regarding both of the above incidents.”
