The cats were only found when passers-by heard their distressed cries

Three kittens were found dumped in a bag when a group of friends heard their distressed meowing in a South Wales park.
Ceri Westcott, 21, was with his sister Sian Westcott and friend Harry Lawrence playing tennis in Thomastown Park, Merthyr Tydfil , when they discovered the abandoned black and white cats.
They originally thought they were hearing bird noises but soon realised it was the sound of kittens.
And when a passing dog started barking at the bag they pinpointed where the cries were coming from.

Thrown down a hill

Ceri, from Merthyr Tydfil, said: “It looked as if these kittens had been thrown down this pretty big hill.
“It’s disgusting, I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t take them to some sanctuary themselves. It’s shocking and shaming really.
“We took them to the vets and they said the kittens were around two to three weeks old and they were covered in fleas.

Placed with foster parents

After being taken to Ash Vets, in Merthyr Tydfil, the cats were deloused and wormed and have now been taken to Ty Nant Cat Sanctuary.
They have been vaccinated and will be placed with foster parents until they are found permanent homes.
