A man has been jailed for 12 years for the rape of a young girl in Rhyl.
Jonathan Baines of Prestwich, Manchester pleaded guilty to the offence which took place last month, at Caernarfon crown court today.
Prestwich, 27, was told by Recorder Jeremy Jenkins he would serve seven years but when released would be on an extended period of licence for five years.
He will remain on the sex offenders' list for life and must obey bans as part of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The day after the rape Baines had gone to Rhyl police station and said: "I've come to report a crime I've done and hand myself in."
Recorder Jenkins said he accepted there was a high degree of remorse.
