AN alcoholic who took a sip from a can of lager in Rhyl town centre was jailed for 16 weeks.
Andrew Smith, 51, of Trem y Bont, Kinmel Bay, admitted that in Queen Street he drank alcohol when banned by a criminal behaviour order.
He was in breach of a four weeks suspended sentence imposed 24 hours earlier for four thefts from shops.
Defence solicitor Roger Thomas said the sip was witnessed by a PCSO.
Smith had work available painting and renovating pier rides during the winter.
District judge Gwyn Jones at Llandudno court told Smith: "In 2016 there have been seven breaches of the criminal behaviour order, in addition to the previous failures to comply with court orders."
