BEREAVED parents who have worked tirelessly to raise funds since the tragic death of their little boy have been the victims of mindless vandalism.
Katy Parry and Kevin Boyle, from Mold, had paint thrown all over the back of their Fiat Punto overnight on Monday.
Their son Ewan Parry died aged seven last January from a brain tumour, and ever since the couple have been raising money for charity in his memory.
Their vehicle was one of three to be targeted with brown paint that night in the area.
All three incidents took place not far from the Cottage Hospital in Mold, according to police.
Katy was devastated to discover the damage to her car when she went to take her dogs for a walk yesterday morning.
“It was quite upsetting that this has happened,” said Katy, 27. “It is just a bit mean and it’s not fair.
“We have been through enough and we don’t need anymore rubbish thrown at us.”
The couple had just completed raising money for Claire House Hospice, after Kevin, 32, had cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
Ewan was first diagnosed with the tumour in March 2013 and the family had months of staying in Claire House while he was being treated at Clatterbridge Hospital on the Wirral.
They family’s latest venture is making jewellery for the Joshua Tree Foundation.
Katy said her six-year-old daughter, Niamh, is also getting involved.
They could have been left out of pocket to pay to clear up the damage.
Luckily, Katy managed to scrub the most of the paint off the car.
A police spokesman said they had received three reports of vandalism to cars involving brown paint.
