Fire crews battled the barn fire in Tredegar which is believed to have been deliberately lit

A “deliberately" lit fire is being investigated by the fire service after a barn and stables were set alight.

Fire crews were called to the barn in Tredegar , Blaenau Gwent, at 10.08pm on Saturday, and was attended by crews from Tredegar and Ebbw Vale.

Update Tredegar: The fire was determined as deliberately started and crews will re-inspect the scene this morning

By the time they arrived at the scene, the 20m by 20m barn was well alight.

The fire was fought for more than an hour with two hosereel jets.

The fire is being treated as arson by the fire brigade who returned to the site on Sunday to reinspect the site as part of their investigation.
