Police presence still outside Halifax
According to a nearby shop worker, there is still a police presence outside Halifax on Albany Road.
What we know so far about the incidents in Roath
- Police were called to two incidents on Albany Road and Donald Street at around 1pm this afternoon
- A spokesman said they were reports of “some sort of attempted robbery, potentially armed robbery”
- There were armed police standing outside Halifax on Albany Road, and more on Donald Street
- At the Donald Street incident, eye witness reports said “six people were in handcuffs” and officers were going into and coming out of a property with a police dog
- An eyewitness said the majority of police left the incident on Donald Street at 2.30pm
- A South Wales Police spokeswoman said “nobody is in any danger”
- Police enquiries are ongoing into the incident

'Nobody's in any danger'
A South Wales Police spokeswoman has called the situation in Roath an “ongoing incident”.
She added: “Nobody’s in any danger and we are continuing enquiries into the incident.”
Police presence still at Halifax on Albany Road
A nearby shop worker said they had seen two large police vans and another smaller van outside the bank’s store on Albany Road.
Police still at the scene on Donald Street
Eye witness Fariha Sabir told us when she left her home 10 minutes ago, police were still on the scene, with more officers going in and coming out of the house.
Eye witness reports large police presence and arrests made
According to eye witness Fariha Sabir, there were “multiple” police cars on Donald Street and about 15 officers.
She said she saw a house get raided, arrests made and people were held outside “for an hour or so”.
She added: “Armed police were aiming at them during this whole period while more armed police raided the house.”
