Arsonists set a pile of rubbish on fire under the railway bridge at Wrexham train station causing delays for rail passenger of up to 45 minutes.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the town’s train station just after 1pm amid reports of thick black smoke coming from near Dunelm Mill.
One crew from Wrexham was sent to the blaze with a stop message sent back to the control room at 1.24pm.
The fire service left the scene but the line remains closed while tests were carried out.
Services were back to normal by around 3.55pm.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said a joint investigation would be held into the start of the blaze alongside the fire service.
