John Henry Beales, who appeared in court in a wheelchair, faces charges dating back to the 1960s and 1970s

A man aged 93 denied a series of sexual offences including rape.
Defendant John Henry Beales appeared in a wheelchair at the back of Mold Crown Court.
He was originally charged with 18 offences.
A new indictment involving 13 charges was put to him today and he denied them all.
Judge Rhys Rowlands was told that Beales, who formerly lived in the Mold area and who then moved to Corwen , suffered from ill-health and had been in Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan .
But he was due to be discharged today and would then live in Rhyl .
The allegations date back to a period when he was aged in his 60s and 70s and the complainant was a young girl.
Beales denied six charges of rape, five charges of indecent assault and two charges of inciting a child under the age of 14 to engage in sexual activity.
A trial is due to take place in September.
