Armed police were called to a village in the Valleys after receiving a report that someone had been 'threatened with a machete'.
A man has been arrested and police are investigating the incident
South Wales Police deployed armed police to Pentre, in the Rhondda , after being alerted to the incident at 8.14pm.
Police said a man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats, adding that nobody had been injured during the incident.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “There was an initial report that somebody had been threatened with a machete but we haven’t recovered a machete.
“Armed police attended because of the nature of the initial report. We are still investigating what actually happened.”
