Toxic algae which can kill animals and give people seizures and liver failure has returned to a lake in Wrexham.
People and their pets have been warned not to come into contact with the water at Acton Park Lake after Blue Green Algae was found there.
A Wrexham council spokesman said: “Blue Green Algae can be toxic to humans and animals if swallowed or if it comes into contact with the skin.
“No one should enter the lake or allow their pets to come into contact with the water.
“Blue Green Algae is naturally occurring, usually during periods of calm warm weather.”
There have been reports of pets and livestock dying after drinking water containing the algae.
Symptoms for humans exposed to the algae can include skin rashes, lesions and blisters or, in more severe cases, mouth ulcers, ulcers inside the nose, eye and/or ear irritation and blistering of the lips.
Ingesting the water can cause headaches, nausea, muscular pains, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Severe cases could result in seizures, liver failure or respiratory arrest.
The algae made an unwelcome appearance at Acton Park last August, sparking another warning.
A similar health warning was also issued in September 2014 after the algae was discovered in a fishing lake at Moss Valley Park in Wrexham.
