Police cordoned off an area of Sussex Street just after 3.30am - but no word on seriousness of man's injuries yet

A man was taken to hospital after an assault in Rhyl in the early hours of this morning.
Police cordoned off an area of Sussex Street just after 3.30am today.
Pictures have emerged on Facebook of three police vehicles, including the scientific support unit, parked on the pavement nearby.
Blue tape was put up around the Jean Emporium and Piazza Restaurant and three yellow markers had been placed on the ground.
The extent of the man’s injuries are not yet known.
North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “We received reports of an assault in Sussex Street, Rhyl just after 3.30am this morning.
“A man was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd .
“Scenes of crime officers have been in the area this morning and investigations are ongoing.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called shortly before 3.45am to reports of an assault on Sussex Street in Rhyl.
"An emergency ambulance attended the scene and a man was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.”
The Jean Emporium Schoolwear shop remains closed while investigations are carried out.
They wrote on Facebook: “Thank you for your concern. We are all ok thank you.
“There has been an incident during the night completely unrelated to Jean Emporium, and therefore NWP have cordoned off the area to do their investigations.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience.
“Hope to be open soon but as you can understand, we have to wait for the go ahead from NWP.”
