Young mum was discovered in rear yard of Penygroes home, where police found 'considerable amount of blood'

A young mum died of severe head injuries a post mortem examination found.
At the formal opening of her inquest at Caernarfon this afternoon North Wales senior coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said he was informed that the body of the 22-year-old had been found.
“Police officers believed the body to be that of Emma Louise Williams, later corrected to be that of Emma Baum. She was found lying in a yard at the rear of the premises.
“There was a considerable amount of blood and it appeared she had suffered severe injuries prior to death.
“With that in mind I authorised the removal of the body to a hospital and ordered that a forensic postmortem examination be carried out.
“This is carried out under different procedures because there were suspicions a crime had been committed.”
Mr Jones said the examination was carried out at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and the provisional cause of death was due to severe head injuries.

“I am informed unofficially a person has been charged with a homicide offence and the effect of that is when I receive official notification from the Crown Prosecution Service I will suspend my investigation and leave it to the crown court,” the coroner added.
Mr Jones said the person charged has the right to ask for a second postmortem but none has yet been requested although he believed such a request may yet be made.
“As a result I cannot release the body at this stage,” he said.
No one from Emma Louise Baum’s family were at the hearing.
The young woman has been described as the “best mother in the world” to her two year-old boy, Steffan.
David Nicholas Davies, 25, of Capel Uchel near Clynnog Fawr has been charged with the murder of Emma Louise Baum.
He has appeared in court and a provisional trial date was listed for November 7 at Caernarfon Crown Court There was no application for bail and Davies was remanded in custody.
