A JUDGE has spared from jail a 45-year-old Mochdre woman who stabbed her husband in the arm during a midnight argument.
Instead Kerry Dishman of Ffordd Gobaith, Mochdre, received an eight months suspended prison sentence, with a 25-day rehabilitation activity and a six months alcohol treatment requirement.
She pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm to husband Garry in February. He had had needed eight stitches in his upper arm.
Judge Peter Heywood said at Caernarfon Crown Court the offence was out of character and it was clear she and her husband were devoted to bringing up a young grandson, and the judge realised how tiring and demanding this could be.
She’d picked up a kitchen knife and normally anyone who used a weapon could expect to go to jail.
He told Dishman: “This was very much out of character. No doubt drink also played its part and it was a momentary lapse of control.”
