Investigation

At this stage, police have not clarified they are treating the death as suspicious or unexplained. They remain at the scene.

Welsh Ambulance statement

A brief statement from the Welsh Ambulance, as it is a police incident.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 10.45am to reports of an incident at an address on Llwyndu Road in Penygroes.
“An emergency ambulance attended the scene.”

Community "shocked"

Here’s the scene at Penygroes, the village is said to be “in a state of shock” at the death of a young woman.

Police statement

We are still awaiting an official word from the police about the young woman’s body. All we have been told so far is they are “investigating an incident”.

We understand the police have been on the scene for roughly 90 minutes, arriving just after 11am.

Reporter Eryl Crump has arrived at the scene and tells me there is one ambulance and four police cars currently on the scene at Penygroes.

Emergency services

Very little is known at this stage about the details around the incident but I am told by witnesses both the police and the ambulance service are on the scene at Penygroes.
