Police have arrested two men after the body of a young woman was found at a property inNorth Wales .
One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a second has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender
North Wales Police said one man had been arrested on suspicion of murder while the other had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender after the discovery was made in the garden of a terraced house in Penygroes, Gwynedd , on Monday morning.
A major investigation was launched by North Wales Police and the death is being treated as suspicious.
The victim has been named locally as Emma Louise Williams, whose family are understood to hail from neighbouring Talysarn.
Police said the men arrested had been detained at Caernarfon police station.
In a statement released yesterday, police added: “The deceased has not yet been formally identified and a Home Office post mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow morning. Her Majesty’s Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones has been notified.
'Detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses'
“Detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses who have heard a disturbance in the Llwyndu Road area of Penygroes earlier this morning, and want to hear from anyone who can assist as soon as possible.”
Gwynedd county councillor for that ward, Dilwyn Lloyd, earlier paid tribute to the young mum.
He said: “It is a very tragic incident and my sympathies are with the family who I have known for some years.
“Emma was a very nice girl, very respectable, and was friends with everyone.
“Her death will be a huge loss to her family.”
