A “HORRIBLE” street attack has left a man in hospital with serious injuries.
Aled Jones, 42, had his “bones and tendons sliced through” during an altercation near his home on Melin y Dre, Greenfield.
Police confirmed they are investigating the attack which happened in the early hours of Saturday, but said they were unsure if a weapon was used.
Mr Jones is being treated in Stoke Hospital where he remains in a critical, but non-life threatening condition.
His sister Naomi Jones said : “I hope whoever did this admits to this horrible attack, or that the police can find this person who did this horrible thing to my brother.
“I don’t know what it was, but something has sliced through his bones and tendons on his leg, and I believe that’s why he had to be transferred to Stoke because the injury was so bad.”
The attack happened on Clwyd Alyn Housing Association property.
Paul Seymour, corporate director for resident services for the Pennaf Housing Group, said: “We are aware of an incident at one of our properties in Greenfield and are working closely with the police with regards to this matter.
“Clwyd Alyn has a dedicated professional team of housing and anti social behaviour officers and we take robust measures to investigate all ASB issues.
“While we are unable to comment on individual incidents we can confirm the safety and well-being of our residents is always a top priority.”
One resident, who did not want to be named, said the attack happened following an argument about a dog running loose.
The resident added: “This is a problematic cul de sac and has many incidents of anti-social behaviour, which both Clwyd Alyn anti-social behaviour officer Sharron Sparrow and Cllr Rosetta Dolphin are aware of.”
A police spokesman, said: “We had information a man in his 40s was attacked.
“He remains in Stoke Hospital with serious injuries, but they are not life threatening or life changing.
“No arrests have yet been made and enquiries are still ongoing.”
The ambulance service said they attended the scene and a man was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Anybody with information about the incident should call police on 101 or on Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting the crime reference number RC16104183.
