The body of Emma Louise Baum was found at a property in Llwyndu Road, Penygroes, on Monday morning.
Her death is being treated as suspicious and a major investigation was launched by police after the discovery was made in the garden of the terraced house at 10.45am.
North Wales Police said they have referred themselves to the Independent Police Complaints Commission after officers received a call at 4am to a possible disturbance but said nothing suspicious was found in the area.
Witness appeal
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the Llwyndu Road area of Penygroes between 2am and 5am on the morning of Monday, July 18.
Detective Superintendent Iestyn Davies said: “The investigation is ongoing and we are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward. We would like to hear from anyone who has seen or heard anything suspicious in the Llwyndu Road area during the early hours of Monday morning."
