A MAN who made a series of frightening anonymous telephone calls to a woman during which he would loudly pleasure himself has been jailed.
Jonathan Staddon rang his victim numerous times during a 12-month period leaving her feeling scared every time the phone rang, and concerned that he would approach her when she was out - especially after he referred to her by name in some of the calls.
Swansea Crown Court heard that despite blocking his number, police were able to trace the 26-year-old - and it emerged that he knew his victim and used to work with her.
Staddon, of Heol Waun Wen, Llangyfelach, had previously pleaded guilty to harassment by stalking when he appeared in the dock for sentencing.
Tom Scapens, for the prosecution, said that between March 2015 and June this year Staddon made a series of phone calls to his victim, usually not saying anything but moaning loudly making it obvious he was touching and pleasuring himself.
Police identified the caller and told the victim his name - and she realised it was a former colleague.
Staddon was arrested shortly afterwards and in his police interview made full admissions about what he had done, telling officers he had hidden his number for a "cheap thrill".

In a victim impact statement, the young woman he harassed said the anonymous calls had made her feel anxious and nervous every time the phone had rung, and scared when she went out or travelled on public transport. She said the months of stalking had left her feeling "powerless".
She added that when she found out the identity of the stalker she felt "sick", and described Staddon as a pervert.
The court heard Staddon has convictions for a number of offences including drink-driving, battery, and criminal damage which date from 2014.
Lee Davies, for Staddon, said his client accepted the "horror" he had caused to his victim.
The advocate said the defendant's previous offending had been a spree committed after falling in with the wrong crowd and abusing alcohol and drugs.
Judge Geraint Walters said Staddon had systematically contacted his victim by phone over a long period and subjected her to "vocal sexual acts".
He told Staddon he had read a probation report on him and was concerned by its contents, saying that Haddon seemed "unwilling or unable to accept the gravity of what you have done", and even suggesting it was a joke.
The judge added: "If you believe that, you are deluding yourself."
Staddon was sentenced to 10 months for harassment by stalking, and to one month for breaching a suspended sentence imposed in relation to offences committed in 2014 both to run consecutively making a total of 11 months.
The defendant was also made the subject of a 10-year restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
