A family have been left “devastated” after a father-of-five died after being found in an alleyway.
Peter Jones, 60, from Bangor was found face down in a lane off the city’s High Street just after 1am on Saturday.
Paramedics made efforts to revive Mr Jones who lived in a hostel in Treborth but he was later pronounced dead at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Police had been carrying out their investigations into what they described as an “unexplained death” and had appealed to the public for any information.
But North Wales Police Detective Inspector Gerwyn Thomas said that following a post-mortem examination, the death was “not being treated as suspicious”.
“Officers would like to thank those who assisted North Wales Police with their enquiries,” DI Thomas added.
Mr Jones’ grieving family have been left heartbroken at his sudden death.
Holding back tears, Mr Jones’s eldest son Timothy Peter Jones said: “We’ve been told he died of natural causes. It’s a hard time for the family.”
He said his father was a plasterer by trade but wasn’t working presently: “He was as strong as an ox.”
Timothy said that he, his two brothers and a sister as well as two half-sisters had been left “devastated”.
Mr Jones said that his father had been staying with his children recently and had celebrated his 60th birthday with the family.
Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said he is still investigating the circumstances of Mr Jones’ death.
