Aaron Paul William Pollard was jailed today for 16 weeks at Swansea Magistrates Court
A SWANSEA man who took a teenage girl camping just hours after being slapped with a child abduction notice banning him from contacting her has been sent to jail.
Twenty-year old Aaron Paul William Pollard was found by police with the 15-year-old in a tent amongst the sand dunes at a Carmarthenshire camp site.
Swansea Magistrates Court heard he told the officer who found them the pair had "spent the night drinking and listening to music".
Pollard, of Brunant Road, Gorseinon, pleaded guilty to removing a child from a person having lawful control — contrary to the Child Abduction Act — when he appeared before justices.
Lisa Jones, prosecuting, said Pollard had been issued with a Child Abduction Warning Notice by police on July 8 — but within hours had been in contact with her by phone and sent a taxi to her home to collect her.

The following day officers from Dyfed-Powys Police "acting on information received" went to a camp site near Kidwelly and found the pair in a tent in the sand dunes.
Pollard was arrested.
Grayson Tanner, for the defendant, said that in her statement the teenage girl had said Pollard had wanted to leave the tent on two occasions during their time together but that she had persuaded him to stay.
The solicitor said his client had learnt his lesson and did not wish to find himself in court again, adding that the probation service accepted "there was no sexual motive" involved.
Ross Evans, chairwoman of the bench, said it was a serious incident, and that Pollard had received — and signed — the abduction notice on the same day he went away with the girl.
Pollard was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.
